1 Mahesh Navami as the name suggests falls on the ninth day (Navami) of the Shukla Paksh in the month of June (Jyestha Hindu month).
2 The festival is dedicated to Lord Shiva, who also known by the name Mahesh or Maheshwara.
3 Hindus celebrate this festival with great devotion, especially the Maheshwari community which is prevalent in North India.
4 According to the traditional belief, the Maheshwari community observes Mahesh Navami as the origin day of their lineage.
5 Many Sansthas decorate the Shiva temples with flowers every year and celebrate this auspicious occasion with great enthusiasm.
6 The devoted believers visit these temples that are surrounded by the sense of serenity and take part in Bhajans and Kirtans.
